#16 Women's Soccer Falls to #1 Spring Arbor

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The 16th-ranked Siena Heights women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought battle to top-ranked Spring Arbor, 1-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, the Cougars' Morgan Marshall finished the game-winner in the 75th minute. Kaley Buck played a through ball to Marshall, which she slotted past SHU goalkeeper to the far post.

Samantha Bartelotti led the Saints with four shots, three on frame. For the Cougars (3-0), Bethany Balcer finished with seven shots, including three on goal.

In net for Siena Heights (1-1), Meghan Bogg stopped five shots. Winning goalkeeper Ashley Timmons had four saves for the Cougars.

Spring Arbor outshot the Saints, 16-7, and held a corner-kick advantage, 9-7.

SHU will be back in action on Saturday when the Saints face No. 8 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) at 4 p.m. EST for a neutral-contest at Cumberland (Tenn.).
