Women's Soccer Listed as #16 on NAIA Preseason Poll

The Siena Heights women's soccer team was listed as the 16th-ranked squad in the NAIA, as announced on national governing body's preseason poll for 2016.

In 2015, the Saints went 17-4 overall and 8-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. They placed second in the WHAC regular season and advanced to the conference tournament final before falling to eventual semi-finalist Northwestern Ohio, 2-0. SHU finished the season as the No. 16-ranked squad in the nation.

Fellow WHAC member UNOH is No. 3 on the 2016 preseason poll.

The Saints will open the season on Monday, Aug. 22, against No. 19 Viterbo for a 1 p.m. home contest. The following Tuesday, Aug. 30, SHU will host the 2015 National Champions, No. 1, Spring Arbor for a 7 p.m. contest.

Siena Heights will also face No. 8 Martin Methodist (Tenn.), No. 25 Cumberland (Tenn.), receiving votes (RV) Robert Morris (Ill.) and RV Marian (Ind.) during the 2016 season.

Conference play will start at Madonna on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 12 p.m.
