#19 Women's Soccer Falls to #7 UNOH in WHAC Final

LIMA, Ohio -- A first-half goal by Northwestern Ohio proved to be the decisive tally as the 19th-ranked Siena Heights women's soccer team fell to the seventh-ranked Racers, 1-0, in Friday's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament final.

Barely outside the 18-yard box, UNOH's Laura Stone converted a free kick in the 17th minute for the game's only score.

Racer goalkeeper Nadine Stonjek needed only one save to earn the shutout. At the other end, Siena Heights goalie Crystal Wilcoxen stopped nine shots.

Northwestern Ohio outshot Siena Heights, 19-3, and held a 5-2 corner-kick advantage.

With the victory, UNOH (18-1-1) claimed an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament. The Saints (15-4-2), who now must hope for an at-large invitation, will wait to hear their fate on Sunday.
