Four Unanswered Goals Lift Women's Soccer to Win over #16 ONU

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team netted four unanswered goals to claim a 5-2 non-conference victory over 16th-ranked Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) on Friday during the SHU Classic at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Samantha Bartelotti scored two goals while Alexis Donnelly and Carlee Pallett contributed one goal and one assist each. Meagan Mousty also had a goal for the Saints (4-0).

Bartelotti opened opened the game's scoring just 28 seconds in, getting assists from Pallett and Paige Frey, before ONU charged back to take a 2-1 lead.

Liz Wahl got the visiting Tigers on the board in the 10th minute, scoring on a breakaway from 30 yards out. Sarah Lentini gave ONU its only lead in the 31st on an assist from Tess Marcordes.

Siena Heights pulled even at 2-all on Donnelly's goal in the 37th; credit Kelsey Young with an assist.

The Saints then finished the game with three goals in the second half. Pallett gave SHU the lead in the 54th with assists from Donnelly and Emily Burkman. Bartelotti and Mousty added insurance goals in the 59th and 78th minutes, respectively.

Siena Heights goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen earned the win with four saves.

For ONU (1-3-1), starting goalie Sarah Vrosh had four saves before reliever Amanda Siciak stopped one shot.

In Friday's earlier game at the classic, Madonna defeated Bethel (Ind.), 2-1, behind two goals from Katlyn Krysiak. Winning goalie Blaire Schmalenberg had one save.

Diana Diaz-Diurych had the lone goal for Bethel. Mallory Conrad made six saves.

The classic will wrap up on Saturday with two games. Madonna and Olivet Nazarene will meet at 6 before SHU hosts Bethel at 8.
