#6 Women's Lacrosse Falls in WHAC Tournament Semifinals to #3 Lawrence Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The No. 6 ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team faced off against No. 3 Lawrence Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament and dropped the contest, 13-10. The Saints were the third seed and the Blue Devils, the second seed. Indiana Tech was the host of the women's lacrosse WHAC tournament. 

The Blue Devils scored the first goal of the contest and remained in control throughout. At halftime, LTU held a 7-5 advantage. Siena Heights scored the first goal of the second half, cutting the deficit to one, but Lawrence Tech answered by going on a 3-0 run and opening the margin back up to four. SHU brought the score back to within two on a couple occasions, but did not have enough to make the full recovery. 

Leading the Saints was Lexi Nicole and Taylor Swartz with two goals each. Samantha Pawlowski finished with a team high, two assists to go with one goal scored of her own. Lizzy Elliott started and played the first 32:28 in goal, allowing seven goals and making five saves on 12 shots faced. Mariah Smythe played the final 27:32 in net, allowing six goals and making seven saves on 13 shots faced. 

Three Blue Devil athletes finished with three goals -- Ashley Sherry, Gabi Larkin and Teagan Laier. Ashley Collins dished out a team best, three assists. Goal keeper Marie Klonowski allowed all 10 Siena Heights goals while making 16 saves on 26 shots faced.
