#6 Women's Lacrosse Falls to #5 Indiana Tech in WHAC Play

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The No. 6 women's lacrosse team hosted No. 5 Indiana Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints fell by a score of 13-7.

Indian Tech blasted off to a 4-0 start and maintained control throughout the contest. With 9:39 remaining in the first half, SHU decreased the deficit to three, but was unable to make a full comeback. ITU was able to hold on the rest of the way. 

Siena Heights was led by Natalie Williams with three goals. Jenna Sommerville, Marissa Cirino and Taylor Swartz each scored one goal. Cirino recorded the only Siena Heights assist. Mariah Smythe started in goal and suffered the loss, giving her a 3-2 record on the season. Smythe finished with six saves on 14 shots faced. Lizzy Elliott was the Saints' goal keeper in the second half and also made six saves on 11 shots faced. 

Sam Vikstrom and McKenna Mesclier each scored four goals for the Warriors. Bailey Childs finished with a team high, two assists for ITU. Sydney Davis earned the win in goal, increasing her record to 11-2, making nine saves on 16 shots faced. 

Next up, the Saints will travel to Concordia for a WHAC contest on Saturday, April 14. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
