#5 Women's Lacrosse to Take on Madonna, Aquinas and Cleary

THE GAMES
The No. 5 Siena Heights women's lacrosse team is set for three contests this week. The Saints will take on Madonna on Wednesday, Aquinas on Saturday and Cleary on Sunday.

Siena Heights is 7-2 overall and has won their last three straight over Notre Dame (Ohio), Ursuline (Ohio) and Marian (Ind.). The Madonna contest will take place at 5 p.m. while the Aquinas and Cleary games will begin at 2 p.m.

SHU averages 16.22 goals per game on 35.4 shots per game giving them a shot percentage of 45.8%. Siena Heights has held their opponents to 10.77 goals per game and a 42.0 shot percentage. 

Madonna is 1-8 overall and 0-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. This week the Crusaders are set to take on No. 5 Siena Heights and No. 6 Indiana Tech. Madonna averages 7.11 goals per game to their opponent's 13.11 on a shot percentage of 32.8%.

Aquinas is 8-1 overall and 1-0 in WHAC action. This week the Saints are set for contests against No. 2 Lawrence Tech before facing the No. 5 ranked Siena Heights Saints. Aquinas has averaged 16.4 goals on 35.1 shots while holding their opponents to 7.1. AQ averages a shot percentage of 46.8%.

Cleary holds a 4-9 record overall and is set to take on Notre Dame College and No. 5 Siena Heights this week in their final two contests of the 2018 season. The Saints defeated Cleary in it's first game of the season on Feb. 2 with a score of 27-7.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Jenna Sommerville leads Siena Heights with 31 goals on the season. Marissa Cirino and Taylor Swarts follow with 26 and 22 goals respectively. Cirino leads the Saints with 16 assists while Swarts has contributed 12. In goal, Mariah Smythe leads with a 3-1 record allowing 51 goals in nine games and making a team high 42 saves. Lizzy Elliott is 1-1 on the season and has allowed 46 goals and made 37 saves. 

Madonna is led by Brittney Leist with 21 goals. Marca Mucha and Valerie Patterson have each added two assists for the Crusaders. Goalie Marissa West is 1-6 overall and has allowed 118 goals in nine contests and made 62 saves. 

Lauren Sanford has lead the Saints with 49 goals while Anna Curcuru has contributed another 36 goals. Curcuru holds a team high, 20 assists. McKenna Maltby is 7-1 overall in goal and allowed 47 goals making 44 saves. 

Last time the Saints and Cougars met, CU was lead by Hana Barnett with three goals. Brooke Graham made the lone assists for the Cougars while goalie Abby Coyne suffered the loss allowing 27 goals and making 10 saves. No season stats were available for Cleary.
