ATHENS, Tenn. -- The No. 8 Siena Heights women's lacrosse team took on Tennessee Wesleyan in a non-conference contest on Monday. The Saints grabbed the 17-13 victory over the Bulldogs.

SHU opened the game on a 5-0 run and then scored another three straight towards the end of the half, sending the Saints into halftime with a 11-7 lead. The Bulldogs scored the first three of the second half, closing the gap to within one goal, but Siena Heights was able to hold off the Tennessee Wesleyan attack and score the five goals in a row to secure the win. 

For Siena Heights, Marissa Cirino and Taylor Swartz led the way with four goals a piece. Lizzy Elliott started at goalkeeper for Siena Heights and earned with win while finishing with nine saves. 

Margaret Waite led the Bulldogs with four goals. Jovanna Romeo suffered the loss in goal making 13 saves.

Next up, the Saints will take on Westminster (Mo.) on Thursday, Mar. 8. Game time is set for 4 p.m. CST.
