#8 Women's Lacrosse Falls to Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The No. 8 Women's Lacrosse team took on Lincoln Memorial on Saturday and dropped the contest 15-8.

The first half was even as the teams went into halftime tied 6-6. To start the second half, Lincoln Memorial scored three straight goals before the Saints scored their seventh point. Soon after the Railsplitters went on a 5-0 run to open the gap, and went on to defeat the Saints. 

Katherine Tapia, Marissa Cirino and Taylor Swartz each finished with two goals. Cirino led SHU with three assists and five shots on goal. Lizzy Elliott suffered the loss in goal for Siena Heights, giving up six goals and making eight saves. Mariah Smythe replaced Elliott in net and allowed nine goals while making four saves. 

Amara Moss led the Railsplitters with five goals and two assists. Shannon Novak played the whole game in goal and earned the win. She allowed eight goals and made 15 saves.

Next up, the Saints will take on Tennessee Wesleyan on Monday, Mar. 5. Game time is schedueled for 2 p.m.
