Women's Lacrosse Comes Back to Grab Victory Over Lourdes

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team traveled to take on Lourdes in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints were able to come back and grab the 12-11 victory.

The Saints opened scoring and started the game with a 3-0 lead. The Gray Wolves scored five unanswered goals going into halftime to give them a 5-3 advantage at the break.

15 seconds into the second half, SHU scored a goal making the score 4-5. Just over a minute later, Kayla Parks tied the game at 5-5. With 20:45 remaining in the contest, Aliisa Mason gave Siena Heights a 7-6 edge and the Saints were able to hang on from there, walking away with the conference win.

Mason and Marissa Cirino led SHU with four goals a piece. Parks added two, while Natalie Williams and Audrey Jarrad each scored one. Three Saints finished the contest with two assists -- Williams, Cirino and Alyssa Hopkins. Tabitha Ferguson earned the win in net for Siena Heights with 15 saves.

For the Gray Wolves, Shelby Kellar and Alyssa Long scored four goals. Long, and Tiara Reed each finished with one assist. Kiley Kettemen suffered the loss in goal for Lourdes completing 12 saves.

The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, March 25, when they host Lawrence Tech in a WHAC contest. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
