Nine Saints Score in Women's Lacrosse 24-2 Victory Over Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Nine different Saints scored in Siena Heights women's lacrosse 24-2 victory over Concordia in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener, on Wednesday.

Siena Heights' Kayla Parks opened the scoring 31 seconds into the game and didn't look back, SHU netting 18 goals in the first half. CUAA scored both goals in the second half, both finished unassisted by Lauren Litogot. Parks scored the game-winner as a free position shot with 28:41 remaining in the first half.

Marissa Cirino, Taylor Swartz and Parks each scored four goals for the Saints (4-0, 1-0 WHAC), Cirino also added an assist. With three goals a piece was Aliisa Mason, Natalie Williams and Audrey Jarrad. Mason tallied two assists for SHU as Williams earned two caused turnovers. Beating the goaltender with a goal a piece was Katherine Tapia, Alyssa Hopkins and Casey Rappuhn.

Earning the win in net for the Saints was Tabitha Ferguson, stopping three shots and allowing one goal in 41 minutes of action. Closing out the game for SHU was Madeliene Albrecht with one goal against and one save. CUAA (1-1, 0-1 WHAC) goaltender Samantha Shatrau suffered the loss with 22 goals against and six saves until she was relieved by Hallie Williams with 18:38 on the clock, who allowed two goals.

The Saints will be back in action in their home opener against Indiana Tech on Saturday. Opening draw control is set for a 2 p.m. conference start.
