Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight to Open the Season

CUMBERLANDS, Ky. -- Taylor Swartz scored four goals in the Siena Heights women's lacrosse 15-10 victory over Cumberlands (Ky.) in non-conference action, on Thursday.

The Patriots started the scoring in the first half and SHU's Aliisa Mason responded with one of her own less than a minute later. The Saints came together and netted eight goals in a row and only allowing three goals past them, leaving the score going into the second half 3-9.

In the second half, the ball traveled to both ends of the field. The Patriots scored seven goals in the second half compared to the Saints only scoring six, but the comeback wasn't enough. The Saints cinched the win with a score of 15-10.

Swartz led the team in goals with four goals and one assist. Kayla Parks and Aliisa Mason each had three goals. Katherine Tapia and Marissa Cirino each had two while Natalie Williams netted one of her own.

Tabitha Ferguson
was the winning goaltender for the Saints, making 10 saves.

The Saints take on Concordia in a 5 p.m. Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, on Wednesday.
