Mason, Parks Efforts Help Women's Lacrosse Rebound with Two Wins

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Aliisa Mason and Kayla Parks helped lift the Siena Heights women's lacrosse team to a 10-8 victory and an 11-9 victory over WHAC opponent Aquinas, on Wednesday.

Taylor Swartz started off the scoring for Siena (7-8, 3-6) with 27:28 remaining in the first half. Mason tacked on three more goals to give SHU the 4-3 lead. Aquinas responded, scoring two more goals to take the 5-4 lead going into halftime.

Mason quickly responded, only 21 seconds into the second half with the tying goal. The score went back-and-forth, Aquinas (0-12, 0-8) tied the game up 8-8 with 4:57 on the clock. Mason finished a pass from Sam Pawlowski for the game-winning ninth goal with 1:56 remaining. Pawlowski added an insurance to help SHU hold the lead.

Mason led the SHU Saints with five goals while Pawlowski added two goals of her own. Parks, Swartz and Sabrina Snow each added solo goals.

Winning goaltender Tabitha Ferguson stopped 12 shots for Siena while AQ's goaltender Genni Terrana made 10 saves. Karley Englesman caused four AQ turnover in game one.

Aquinas came out strong in game two, scoring seven goals in the first half to lead 7-3 at halftime.

With 16:34 remaining on the clock, Aquinas notched another goal to lead 8-5 against Siena. The Saints then went on a six goal run with three goals coming from Parks, Snow, Mason with the game-winner and Alysa Grove. Aquinas put in the final goal of the night with 00:04 left on the clock.

Parks led game two with four goals for SHU. Snow added three goals and one assist while Swartz notched two goals of her own. Grove tallied one goal while Mason added the game-tying assist and game-winning goal.

Earning the second win of the night, Ferguson earned ten saves for the SHU Saints. For the AQ Saints, McKenna Maltby stopped 12 shots. Pawlowski caused four Aquinas turnovers.

The Saints will be back in action when they play their final home game of the regular season against Lourdes at 8 p.m.
