#5 Women's Lax Falls to #2 DU

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The fifth-ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-9 decision to second-ranked Davenport in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competition on Wednesday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Erin Kehn was SHU's leading point-getter, finishing with four goals and one assist. Aliisa Mason added two goals while Kayla Parks, Madison Sabourin and Sydney VanHoose tallied one goal each.

Also for Siena Heights, Sabourin totaled three draw controls, Alyssa Mullen picked up five groundballs and Karley Engelsman caused three turnovers.

SHU goaltender Tabitha Ferguson stopped 10 shots.

Davenport opened the game with a four-goal run and led the entire way.

Brooke Knoll had three goals and an assist for the Panthers (9-2, 6-0). Jessica Lemcke added three goals and Taylor Balch made six assists.

Mackenzie VanDerWarf and Natalie McHale recorded five groundballs apiece. Samantha Powers made nine saves in net.

The Saints will play their next game on Thursday when they visit Urbana (Ohio) for a 5 p.m. start.
