#9 Women's Lacrosse Earns Win Over Midland

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Aliissa Mason had eight goals and three assists to lead the ninth-ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team to a 22-14 victory over Midland (Neb.) in non-conference action on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Erin Kehn added seven goals and two assists while Sam Skodi contributed three goals for the Saints (6-2).

Also, Kayla Parks scored two goals and Sabrina Snow and Katelynn Silvernail notched single goals. Snow also had five groundballs.

Sydney VanHoose made three assists, Madison Sabourin dished two assists and Taylor Swartz contributed one assist. Sabourin also had six groundballs while Karlee Hale caused two turnovers.

In goal, Tabitha Ferguson stopped five shots for the win.

The Saints, who never trailed, broke a 2-2 tie with four consecutive goals. Later, SHU enjoyed a 6-0 run to build its advantage to 14-6. Midland closed its deficit to 17-13 with 8:48 remaining in the game, but that was as close as the visiting Warriors (3-5) would get.

Sarah Hill led Midland with six goals, two assists and nine groundballs. Goalie Tessa Singleton finished with seven saves.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. home game against Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Davenport.
