#9 Women's Lacrosse's Comeback Bid Falls Short Against #4 Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Aliisa Mason was Siena Heights' leading scorer with four goals, but the ninth-ranked Saints' women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-11 decision to fourth-ranked Indiana Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action at O'Laughlin Stadium on Wednesday.

Erin Kehn, Kayla Parks and Madison Sabourin added two goals apiece while Sam Skodi put in one goal for the Saints (2-2, 0-2).

Also, Sabrina Snow contributed two assists and four draw controls.

Defensively, Beth Giguere led the way with five groundballs and five draw controls. Karley Engelsman caused four turnovers and goaltender Tabitha Ferguson made eight saves.

Visiting Indiana Tech (2-0, 2-0) opened the contest on a 9-1 run and led the entire way, but not before SHU pushed back in the second half.

The Saints enjoyed a 6-1 stretch of their own, closing the deficit to 12-9, before the Warriors scored four consecutive goals to pull away.

Alexa Winter was Indiana Tech's leading goal-scorer with five goals and two assists while top point-getting Alexis DiGiovanni compiled four goals and four assists.

Lauren Allard picked up five groundballs and Kelly Bose caused four turnovers in support of winning goalie Meagan Eldridge, who had 11 stops.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a 2 p.m. WHAC contest versus Aquinas.
