Women's Lacrosse Powers Past Illinois Tech in HEADstrong Game

Adrian, Mich. - The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team beat the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks 18-5 in a non-conference match up Saturday.  The game was played to promote 'HEADstrong' blood cancers awareness.

The Saints jumped out to an early lead with six goals in the first five minutes.  Their offensive prowess continued from there as they scored 14 goals before Illinois Tech added their first.  

Erin Kehn scored five goals to led the eight different goal scorers for the Saints.  Stephanie Gonzalez added thee goals, while Sabrina Snow and Aliisa Mason both added a pair.  Syndey VanHoose led the Saints in assists with three while she also added a goal.

The Saints defense allowed just eleven shots while Tabitha Ferguson started in goal and was credited with the win.  Amelia Balinski split time in net and was credited with all four of the Saints saves.  

Siena Heights improves to 6-6 on the season and will host Indiana Tech tomorrow in WHAC action.  The game is scheduled to start at 6 pm.
