Women's Lacrosse to Host Inaugural HEADstrong Game

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team will host its inaugural HEADstrong game when Illinois Tech visits O'Laughlin Stadium for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday.

The Saints will donate proceeds to the HEADstrong Foundation, which efforts to improve quality of life for those affected by blood cancers and supports those working to eliminate the diseases.

HEADstrong events will begin at 1 p.m. in the O'Laughlin Stadium plaza. They will include the sale of t-shirts ($10), awareness bracelets ($3) and commemoration ribbons ($1).

Admission at the gate will be optional, although those who pay the $3 admission will have their name entered into a goody-basket raffle.

Those who do attend are encouraged to wear lime green, which is HEADstrong's color of support. More information on HEADstrong can be found HERE.

The founder of HEADstrong is Nicholas Colleluori, a lacrosse player at Hofstra (N.Y.) who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2005 before passing away in 2006 at the age of 21.

Donations are also being accepted; checks can be made out to the HEADstrong Foundation.
