Women's Golf Places Seventh at St. Francis Invitational

FT. WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's golf team traveled to compete in the St. Francis (Ind.) Invitational, a two day tournament that took place on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30. Day one took place at Cherry Hill Golf Club, a par 72, while day two was played at Cobblestone Golf Club, also a par 72 course. 

The Saints finished in seventh place out of 11 teams, shooting a 332 in day one and 323 on day two, totaling a score of 655. Other Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference teams in the tournament were Northwestern Ohio placing first, and Madonna, placing tied for ninth. 

Dakota Spears was the top finisher for SHU carding an 82 in the first round, and a 74 in the second, giving her a total of 156 and placing her in a tie for sixth. Lauren Cojei, finished tied for 12th with a 80 in the first round and a 79 in the second giving her a total score of 159. Rounding out scoring for Siena Heights was Allie Barron carding a 170 total and Madisyn Reed with a 173. Also playing for SHU was Carley Hall (174) and Amy Nordstrom (188).

The Saints will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 6 in the WHAC Jamboree No. 1 which will be played at Golden Fox Golf Club in Plymouth, Mich.
