Women's Golf Leads NAIA With Seven Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

For the second year running, the Siena Heights women's golf team leads the NAIA with seven Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2016-17 season. A total of 174 women were recognized in the NAIA.

Two-time honorees include seniors Amber Dykstra, Alyssa Fausneaucht, Jessa Rappleye and Andrea Richards--all two-time WHAC honorees as well. Juniors Ashley Bearden, Katherine Carlson and Lauren Cojei also received honors at both the NAIA and WHAC levels.

Fausneaucht majored in sport management while Richards majored in accounting. Rappleye studied in applied mathematics and Dykstra in nursing.

Studying in criminal justice is Bearden and Cojei. Carlson is majoring in social work.

In order to be nominated for the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
