Women's Golf Wins The Lourdes Spring Invitational to Open Spring Season

TOLEDO, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's golf team earned a first place finish at the Lourdes Spring Invitational, on Monday, in one round of action.

The Saints were led by Andrea Richards who shot an 82 on the 71 par, 5876 yards course. Richards tied for second place behind first place finisher Morgan Barnett from Northwestern Ohio by a single stroke.

Ashley Bearden tied for fifth with an 85 while Alyssa Fausneaucht earned an 86 for seventh place.

Rounding out the Saints scoring was Lauren Cojei with an 88, good for ninth place. The fifth SHU golfer was Jessa Rappleye who shot a 102.

Overall, SHU scored a 341 to tie with Northwestern Ohio for the top spot. Siena Heights claimed the win as the fifth place golfer, Rappleye, earned a better finishing score.

Next up, Siena Heights will return to action in the IU-Kokomo Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
