Cojei and Fausneaucht Lead Women's Golf to Victory at the Jon Speiss Invite

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Lauren Cojei and Alyssa Fausneaucht tied for second place, helping the Siena Heights women's golf team to a first place finish at the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Invitational on Tuesday.

Cojei and Fausneaucht both finished with a 79, eight over par, to enter a three-way tie for second place. First place individual finisher was Andrea Webster from Northwestern Ohio with a 77.

Andrea Richards tied for fifth place, carding an 80 at the one round tournament.

In a tie for seventh place, Ashley Bearden compiled an 81 to round out the Saints' scores.

Ten teams competed in the tournament, including Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schools Northwestern Ohio and Lourdes (Ohio). SHU finished with a total score of 319, 35 over par, while UNOH finished in a close second at 321.

The Saints will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 12, in the Spring Arbor Fall Classic at Eagle Eye G.C. in Bath, Mich.
