Women's Golf Wins Cleary Invite, Four Saints Place Among Top Five

BRIGHTON, Mich. -- Four different Siena Heights golfers placed in the Top 5 as the Saints' women's golf team finished first among eight teams at the Cleary Fall Invitational, which took place at Chemung Hills on Friday.

Katherine Carlson was runner-up with an 85 on the 5,910-yard, par-72 course. Andrea Richards took third with an 86, Lauren Cojei fired an 88 for fourth and Ashley M. Carney tied for fifth with a 90.

Also for SHU, Ashley Bearden had a 92 to tie for ninth.

As a team, the Saints had a score of 349 and were followed, in order, by Cleary (365), Manchester, Ind. (383), Rochester (387), Lourdes, Ohio (394), Jackson Community College (408), Spring Arbor (416) and Concordia (577).

Cleary's Madison Smith was the medalist with an 84.

Siena Heights will compete next at the Spring Arbor Invitational, which will occur at Cascades in Jackson, Mich.
