Women's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Lourdes Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Jessa Rappleye and Elisabeth Higgins placed second and third, respectively, as the Siena Heights women's golf team finished runners-up at the Lourdes Invitational, which took place at Heather Downs Country Club. A total of 39 golfers from seven teams competed.

Rappleye shot an 82 and Higgins had an 83 for the Saints, who had a team total of 360.

Ashley Bearden tied for 10th with a 90 while Katherine Carlson and Ashley M. Carney tied for 15th with 94s.

SHU finished behind only Columbus State Community College (Ohio), which had a 359, and ahead of Rochester (362), Cleary (267), Ohio Northern (370), John Carroll, Ohio (371) and Lourdes, Ohio (381).

Cleary's Madison Smith claimed medalist honors with a 79.

The Saints will return to competition on Monday and Tuesday during the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships at Coyote Creek in Fort Wayne, Ind.
