Women's Basketball

Sara Chrenko enters her 17th season on the bench for the Saints. During her tenure, she has been responsible for many aspects of the program including, player development in both guard and post positions, scouting, and recruiting. Currently, she works primarily with post-player development and opponents’ offensive schemes.

Chrenko became the first member of the Siena Heights coaching staff to be named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year. She received the honor in March of 2021.

Chrenko has been a fixture on the campus of Siena Heights University since 2000 when she was a student-athlete. When her playing career ended in 2004, she transitioned into a student manager role for the 2004-05 season. Upon earning her undergrad degree in education, she moved into the graduate assistant coach position for three years while she earned her master’s in educational leadership. Following grad school, Chrenko began working in the admissions office at SHU while also filling the role of assistant coach—a job she has held since. Currently, she is the Director of Career Services at the university.

Chrenko currently resides in Adrian, Michigan.
