Hinton Scores 25, DeLong Doubles in Women's Basketball Win against Madonna

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Kayla Hinton scored 25 points and Olivia DeLong recorded a double-double as the Siena Heights women's basketball team took a 74-42 win against WHAC opponent Madonna on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Hinton also had seven rebounds and six assists. DeLong totaled 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints (18-2, 13-1), who earned their 18th consecutive win.

Jakarri Alven finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. E'Anna Won grabbed eight rebounds.

The Saints opened with a 6-0 run, getting four points from Alven in that stretch, before falling to a 13-12 deficit later in the first quarter.

At that point, SHU went on a 17-0 run at the end of the first and beginning of the second to take a 29-13 lead. Hinton had 11 points in that run.

From there, Siena Heights built a 43-26 halftime lead and held the margin in double-figures the rest of the way.

The Saints blanked the Crusaders in the fourth quarter, outscoring their visitors 18-0.

SHU will return to action on Wednesday with a WHAC road game at Indiana Tech.
