The Siena Heights women's basketball team downed Doane 81-56 in the first of two games at the Malka Sports Tours Hoop N' Surf Classic on Friday afternoon. The Saints (12-2) outscored the Tigers in every quarter of the contest on the way to the victory.

Sha'kyia Parker led SHU with 23 points on 5-11 shooting beyond the arc. Peyton Banks totaled 15 points and seven rebounds to contribute to the win. Anaya Powell was 3-4 from three as she finished with 11 points off the bench.

Parker drilled her first three in the first 11 seconds of the first quarter. The shot sparked a 10-0 run by Siena in the opening three minutes of play, and the Saints never trailed for the remainder of play. A pair of free throws cut the SHU lead to two points, 14-12, with just over 3:30 to play in the first. Five straight points by Parker extended the lead to 19-12. Banks hit the final basket for the Saints in the first to hold a 23-12 advantage. Doane's two layups cut things to 23-16 by the end of the period.

Banks and Parker each hit three's to start the second as the Saint lead grew to 29-16. Siena maintained a double-double edge up until halftime, with the score at 38-27 as the teams entered the locker room at the break.

The Tigers cut the margin to 10 points, 40-30 in the opening two minutes of the third, but a 7-0 run put the Saints back up big, 47-30, with just over six and a half in the third frame. The lead hovered there for the rest of the period, with Siena Heights holding a 57-43 advantage as the game moved into the final quarter.

Parker and Powell kept the lead for the Saints in the fourth as they each scored a team-high seven points in the 10-minute period. E'Anna Won added five points in the quarter as SHU cruised to the lopsided win.
