KANSAS CITY -- Siena Heights women's basketball senior Sharmaine Wills was named the NAIA National Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday.
Wills started the week by scoring six points and nine rebounds in the Saints 66-36 win over crosstown rival, Adrian College.
She tallied back-to-back double-doubles in the SHU Thanksgiving Tournament over the holiday weekend.
She scored 16 points and 10 rebounds in the 100-32 blowout win over Wright State Lake in the opening day game.
She followed up that performance with an 18-point, 12 rebound game to propel the Saints to an 80-75 overtime win over #4 Saint Xavier (Ill.) in the championship game.
She was named to the SHU Thanksgiving All-Tournament following the championship game. Wills adds this award to her WHAC Player of the Week honor she received on Monday.
