The Siena Heights women's basketball team was chosen fifth in the 2018 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Preseason Poll as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Indiana Tech claimed the top spot with 117 points and eight of the 11 first-place votes. Lawrence Tech scooped up the other three first-place votes and totaled 112 points for the second spot on the poll.
Aquinas had 97 points and Rochester clocked in at fourth with 84 points, just four points ahead of the Saints who tallied 80 points in the poll. Concordia (56) and UM-Dearborn (51) occupied the sixth and seventh positions. Cornerstone (44), Madonna (34), Lourdes (27), and UNOH (24) rounded out the poll.
Siena finished seventh in the conference last season with an 11-9 conference mark. The Saints begin their season on Thursday, November 1 with a road conference game against Lawrence Tech. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., EDT.
