2017-18 Women's Basketball Season Recap

The Siena Heights women's basketball team wrapped up their season with an overall record of 18-13 and 11-9 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. The Saints finished seventh in WHAC regular season play and faced off against the second seed, and 21st nationally ranked, Lawrence Tech in the first round of the WHAC Tournament. SHU fell in the tournament quarterfinals to LTU and concluded it's 2017-2018 season. 

Sophomore Demi Russell led the Saints with 10.4 points per game, pulled down 5.4 rebounds per contest and was selected as a member of the WHAC second team. Clara Waidley was the Siena Heights recipient of the Champions of Character award and Haley Hoffman was honored as an NAIA DII Scholar Athete.

Senior Taylar McNeal and junior Alyssa Larson, shared the Most Improved Player title. McNeal averaged 4.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game off the bench for SHU while Larson contributed a team second best, 10.1 points and pulled down a team high, 7.9 rebounds per game. 

Senior Azalea Miller was named team Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Defensive Player. Miller averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 boards and 3.9 assists per contest from the point guard position.
