Arrington Leads Saints in Victory Over #20 Indiana Tech

FT. WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team traveled to take on No. 20 Indiana Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic conference contest. The Saints knocked off the Warriors with a socre of 69-64.

After the first half the score was dead even after both teams scored 15 points in the first quarter and 13 points in the second quarter. Going into the break, it was all tied up at 28.

With 2:42 remaining in the third period, SHU gained the largest lead of the game on an Ashley Perry lay-up to give the Saints a 50-40 advantage. At the end of three, Siena Heights was in control with a score of 53-44. In the fourth, ITU battled to make a comeback, but the Saints were able to hold on for the victory. 

Jaaliyah Arrington led the Saints with 18 points. Sharmaine Wills added 12 points and seven rebounds while Demi Russell contributed ten points. April Watson finished with nine points and a team high, nine boards. 

The Warriors were led by Haley Cook with 18 points. Keanna Gary scored 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.

The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 18, when they take on Concordia in a WHAC match-up. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
