Women's Basketball Rebounds with Victory Over Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Concordia 70-65, on Saturday.

After the first quarter, the Saints (13-9, 7-7) came back from a three point deficit to tie the game up, 29-29, at halftime.

Siena Heights finished strong, outscoring the Cardinals (10-10, 5-9) in both the third and fourth quarters.

Jaaliyah Arrington led the Saints with 18 points. With 10 boards and 11 points, Lauren Wirth lead the game in rebounds. April Watson also added 15 points.

For the Cardinals, Brianna Rowe led with 25 points and four rebounds. Kaira Borowiak finished with 10 points.

Overall, the Saints shot 25-57 (43.9 percent) from the field, 5-16 (31.3 percent) behind the arc and 15-33 (45.5 percent) from the free-throw line. Concordia shot 18-51 (35.3 percent) on the floor, 8-22 (36.4 percent) in three-point land and 21-25 (84.0 percent) from the charity stripe.

This win gives the women's basketball staff 200 wins during the 12 seasons the program has been under Sue Syljebeck's leadership.

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Indiana Tech for a conference contest set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
