#10 Women's Hoops Cruises Past Concordia

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Sierra Calhoun had 16 points and seven rebounds while Mackenzie Tomasik compiled a double-double worth 10 points and 12 rebounds as the 10th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team cruised past Concordia for a 90-39 victory in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play at the SHU Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Alexxis Knannlein added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Saints (7-2, 5-1), who held CUAA to 15.4 percent from the field (10 of 65).

Siena Heights scored the game's first seven points and never looked back. Also in the first half, SHU had a 13-point run and a nine-point run in building a 41-17 intermission lead.

The Saints then outscored Concordia in the second, 49-22, getting 6-0, 11-0 and 10-2 runs during the period.

SHU held a 65-37 rebounding advantage and shot 32 of 74 from the field (43.2 percent), including 5 of 15 from three-point land (33.3 percent).

The Cardinals were 3 of 31 from beyond the three-point arc (9.7 percent).

Mara Mulroy had eight points and six rebounds to lead CUAA (1-10, 0-7).

The Saints will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, with a 1 p.m. WHAC contest at Northwestern Ohio.
