Warfield Catches Fire in #16 Women's Hoops Win over UMD

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Morgan Warfield buried seven 3-pointers and finished with 26 points as the 16th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team defeated Michigan-Dearborn, 92-50, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Alexxis Knannlein added 11 points and seven rebounds and Jaaliyah Arrington scored 10 points for the Saints (4-0, 3-0). Lauren Wirth also had seven rebounds and three steals while Sierra Calhoun and Alexis Johnson dished seven and six assists, respectively.

SHU broke a 7-all tie with seven consecutive points, which was was the beginning of a 23-5 stretch for the hosts. During that time, Warfield led the way with 11 points.

The Saints held a 46-23 at halftime and twice led by 42 during the second.

The Wolverines (2-5, 1-2) were led by Megan Swick and Bilqees Grant, who scored nine points apiece. Grant also had eight rebounds.

Siena Heights will return to action on Tuesday with an 6 p.m. WHAC home contest against Cornerstone.
