Softball Ends WHAC Schedule With Losses to Madonna

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team lost a pair of WHAC contests to Madonna, 6-2 and 2-0, at Christensen Memorial Softball Field on Wednesday.

The Saints (12-29, 8-14) will play next on Saturday when they host Indiana-South Bend for a 1 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.

 

Game one: Madonna 6, SHU 2

A two-run double by Kat Moreau accounted for the Saints' runs. Moreau's hit gave SHU a 2-1 lead in the third inning.

Madonna quickly answered with two runs in the fourth, taking the lead on a solo home run by Gabby Toth.

The Crusaders added two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Emma Marshall had a double for the Siena Heights offense.

 

Game two: Madonna 2, SHU 0

Eva Curtis smacked two doubles for the Saints, who had three hits as a team.

Shyann Truax went the distance in the circle, giving up two runs on four hits.

Madonna scored its two runs in the fourth inning.
