The Siena Heights softball team enters the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed, starting on Wednesday. The Saints will face off against Indiana Tech in the first round with a 6 p.m. contest, followed by an 8:30 p.m. game where they will face Aquinas or Michigan-Dearborn.

Siena Heights bested their WHAC preseason ranking, seventh, as they ended the season third behind Madonna and Aquinas. This marks the highest finish for the SHU softball program dating back to when the Saints won the WHAC regular season in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996.

SHU begins the tournament with a 21-13 overall record after going 13-7 in conference action. The Warriors of Indiana Tech hold a 15-31 record with a 11-9 conference slate. Earlier this season, Siena Heights split with Indiana Tech, winning the first game 9-1 before falling 6-3 in the second game.
