The Siena Heights Softball Team used a wild come from behind marathon game to earn a split on a day where they played two more one run games.

In game one, the Saints came away with a thrilling 17-16 win after finding themselves down by 10 runs.  Grace scored two runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third, and six in the fourth while the Saints scored two in the bottom of the second, creating a ten run deficit,12-2, heading into the bottom of the fourth.  

Siena Heights countered with six of their own runs in the fourth, Grace added a solo run in the fifth, countered by four Saints' runs in the fifth to close the gap to a single run at 13-12.  Grace tacked on two more in the sixth inning setting up the Saints for their final comeback, pushing across five runs in the bottom of the sixth to give themselves a two run cushion going into the seventh.  The top of the seventh remained interesting as Grace loaded the bases with one out, after a groundout plated a run to pull the Lancers within one, a strikeout ended the game with the 17-16 win. 

The teams combined for not only 33 runs, but also 38 hits.  Each team utilized four pitchers during the game as well.  There were seven doubles, one triple and 13 stolen bases as well.  Ten different Saints accounted for a hit with six different players notching at least two hits.  Eight different Saints accounted for the 13 RBI on the game.

Lexi Agers had two hits, a run and a RBI, Ashley Helmink added two hits, two runs and a RBI, Kris Forest notched three hits, a run and two RBI.  Kelsey Cherry had two hits and a run, Hayley Turk had one hit, three runs, and two RBI, Amy Nordstrom added two hits, a run, and two RBI, Kristi Carlson had a hit, two runs, and a RBI, Taylor Mowery had a hit, with Skylar Crenshaw adding a pinch hit two RBI single, and Bailee Taylor added two hits, a run, and two RBI. 

In the circle, Lauren Valdez threw two innings to start, followed by Lauren Best with two innings.  Erika Schwartz came on and threw two innings, earning the win in relief with Racquel Ward coming in and earning the save in the 7^th.  Ward and Valdez each notched two strikeouts.

In game two, the Saints took on Presentation and came away with a hard luck 6-5 loss.  Siena Heights jumped out to a two run lead early, only to see Presentation take the lead 3-2 in the 3^rd.  The Saints responded to tie the game in the bottom of the third, however, two runs in the 5^th and a run in the 7^th by Presentation set up the stage.  Siena Heights pulled back to within one in the bottom of the 5^th, and scored one in the bottom of the 7^th, but couldn't find the final hit to tie or win the game. 

Ward threw the complete game on the mound, giving up only three earned runs and striking out eight batters.  Cherry had another strong game with three hits, two RBI and a homerun.  Nordstrom added two more hits and two more RBI, with Jordan Bianchi adding a RBI single in the 7^th.

With the split, the Saints move to 1-3 on the season and will return to action on Tuesday when they play Fisher and Olivet Nazarene at 8 am and 12 pm mountain time.
