Softball Leads NAIA With Nine Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

The Siena Heights softball team led the NAIA with nine athletes honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the association on Wednesday. In total 395 women earned this award.

Two-time NAIA honorees are seniors Megan Jones, Kelsey Lampkowski and Kyndle Wolfinger. Newcomers to this award include seniors Hannah Bleikamp, Lesley Ducat and Katie Hybl, along with juniors Kelsey Cherry, Hailey Fox and Jessica Sierak. All nine athletes received the WHAC Scholar-Athlete Award.

Biology majors include Jones, Lampkowski and Hybl while Cherry is in the nursing program.

Majoring in psychology is Fox and Sierak as Ducat studies criminal justice.

Wolfinger is an accounting major and Bliekamp majors in sport management.

In order to be nominated for the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
