SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights softball team traveled to Pacesetter Park in Sylvania, Ohio for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday.

In game one of the night, the seventh seed Saints faced second seed Madonna and dropped the contest 10-0 in five innings. In game two, SHU fell to the third seed, UM-Dearborn by a score of 5-3.

A huge second inning helped lift the Crusaders over the Saints in game one. In the first inning, Madonna (28-12 overall) scored a single run, before erupting in the second, scoring seven, and adding two more in the fourth. SHU was not able to get its bats going, and could not keep up with the hot hitting of the Crusaders.

In game two of the night, Siena Heights opened scoring in the first inning but the Wolverines were able to tie the ball game in the second. In the fourth, SHU was able to grab the lead again, scoring twice, but UM-Dearborn (28-9 overall) was not finished. The Wolverines scored four runs in the fifth inning to give them a 5-3 advantage that the Saints could not recover from.
