Wolfinger Sets Single Season SHU Record for Runs Scored

In Tuesday night's second contest of a double-header, Kyndle Wolfinger, a senior second baseman, from Jackson, Mich., broke the single season Siena Heights record for runs scored. The record was previously held by SHU Hall of Famer, Dee Koppleman, who set the record at 46, during the 1995 season. Wolfinger scored two runs to break the record and currently sits at 47 with multiple games remaining.

While helping the Saints to a 25-15-1 overall record and scoring a new all-time high for runs in a season, Wolfinger also leads Siena Heights in hits (63), stolen bases (16), and batting average (.457).  Wolfinger has been very hot since the team returned from their spring trip, over the last 27 games, she has hit .510 and scored 32 of her 47 runs.

During conference play, Wolfinger has been just as strong, hitting .506 with 39 hits and 24 runs scored in WHAC games.  For the season, she has scored 68% of the time when she gets a hit or is walked or hit by a pitch.  She has had only 12 games of her 40 played where she hasn't scored at least one run, and has scored multiple runs a game 15 times.  Wolfinger has had only six games where she hasn't recorded at least one hit, and had 18 multi-hit games.

Wolfinger and the Saints will be back in action on Saturday, April 29, when they host Cardinal Stritch (Wisc.) in a non-conference double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
