Softball Wins 20th Game with two Wins over UNOH

The Siena Heights Softball Team won their 20th game of the season with two wins over UNOH in WHAC play.

The Saints won a tightly contested first game by a score of 6-5.  The Saints found themselves down one after the first inning and responded with five runs in the 3rd.  UNOH scored two in their half of the third and another in the fourth to make the score 5-4.  A solo run by the Saints in the 5th gave them the two run cushion and was enough despite another solo run by UNOH in the 6th.

Lesley Ducat battled through four innings to earn the win, Lindsay Brandon finished out the final three innings to earn the save.  Offensively, the Saints top five hitters provided most of the damage.  Kyndle Wolfinger went 2-4 with two runs, Kenya Keller went 2-3 with a run and a RBI, Kris Forest went 2-4 with a run and two RBI, Megan Jones added a hit, a run, and a RBI, and Hannah Bleikamp was 2-3 with two doubles and two RBI.  Amy Nordstrom added the other Saints' hit with Hailey Fox scoring the other run.

In game two, the Saints pounded out 19 hits en route to a 14-6 win.  They scored early and often with three runs in the first and second, and six runs in the 3rd.  Solo runs in the fifth and sixth rounded out the scoring.  Brandon got the start throwing the first two innings before Kayla Kormos came in and threw the final four innings allowing one run to earn the win.

Wolfinger went 3-5 with two runs scored, Keller added a 3-4 game with four runs scored, Forest went 2-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a run, Jones was 4-5 with a double, three runs and three RBI, Bleikamp went 3-4 with a double, a homerun, two runs and four RBI, Kelsey Cherry was 2-4 with two RBI, Brandon had a hit and a run scored, and Fox was 1-3 with a run scored.

With the wins, the Saints' record stands at 20-4-1 on the season and 5-0-1 in the WHAC.  They will return to action on Wednesday when they host Concordia at 3:30 pm.
