Kormos No Hitter, Ducat Two Hitter, 23 Runs, Two Wins for Softball

The Siena Heights Softball Team started their Sunday with a 21-0 no hitter win against Fisher College.

The Saints started out the game with two in the first and never looked back from there.  They scored two more in the second, four in the third, ten in the fourth and another three in the fifth.  They capitalized on 11 walks to go along with their 14 hits.

Kayla Kormos made her first start for the Saints and threw the complete game no hitter.  The had six strikeouts over the five inning game.

Offensively, Kyndle Wolfinger was 1-2 with two runs scored, Ashley Helmink was 1-1 with two runs and two RBI, Kenya Keller was 2-2 with two runs three RBI and a double, Carly Petri was 1-2 with a run, two RBI and a double, Lindsay Brandon was 1-1 with a run and two RBI, Megan Jones had an RBI, Amy Nordstrom scored a run, Skylar Crenshaw scored two runs, Hannah Bleikamp was 2-2 with a run and a double, Jessica Sierak went 2-3 with two runs, two RBI, and a double, Bailee Taylor went 3-4 with two runs, five RBI, and a homerun, Katie Hybl scored a run, Hailey Fox scored a run, and Kayla Boland was 1-1 with three RBI and a triple.

In the afternoon game, the Saints scored solo runs in the 2nd and 6th innings, holding Bellevue to only two hits during the game.  Lesley Ducat was on the mound for the Saints, throwing the complete game two hitter.  She struck out four batters along the way.

Offensively, the Saints got on the board in the second when Bleikamp led off with a double.  After a sacrifice bunt by Kelsey Cherry moved her to third, she scored on a RBI groundout by Nordstrom.  In the sixth, Jones got on via the error, Ashley Best came in to pinch run and moved to third on a ground out.  Bleikamp came through with the clutch RBI to give the Saints a little cushion late in the game.

With the wins, the Saints move to 4-0 on the season.  They will return to action on Monday when they face Trinity International and Trinity Christian.
