Liam Heaney Claims 111th at 2019 NAIA Cross Country National Championships

FORT VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Siena Heights men's cross country Junior, Liam Heaney (Chelsea, Mich.) earned an 111th finish at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships, on Friday.

The eight-kilometer race took place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. SHU's lone men's runner, Heaney, finished with a time of 26:28 for 111th place. The individual winner was Mark Shaw, a Senior out of Oklahoma City, beating the second place finisher by four seconds with a time of 24:39.

The team winner was Oklahoma City with a score of 110 points, an average time of 25:25, and a five-person total of 2:06:40. The top Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) team to finish was Cornerstone, taking 27th place with a 26:58 average time.  

This was Heaney's second appearance at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.
