Men's Cross Country Wins the Lansing Invitational

LANSING, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team took first place out of 21 teams competing in the Lansing Community College Invitational, on Friday.

SHU had a five-person total time of 2:12:58 with an average time of 26:35 for the 8k course, earning a total score of 76. In second place Lansing finished in 2:11:50 to average 26:22 but had a total point score of 91.

The Saints top finisher was Anthony Vermilye who finished in sixth place with a time of 25:58.1. The individual winner was Alex McCormick from Lansing with a time of 25:30.5.

Taking 11th was Esrom Woldemichael in 26:19.8. Jareb Duggan and Bradley Bauer finished in 26:44.1 and 26:48.9, respectively, for 14th and 17th place. The final Saints' scorer was Liam Heaney earned 28th with a time of 27:07.8.

Up next, Siena Heights will compete in the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational in Muskegon, Mich. on Friday, Oct .13.
