Men's Cross Country Takes Third at the National Catholic Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team finished third at the National Catholic Invitational, on Friday.

As a team, the Saints totaled 2:18:19 for an average 8k time of 27:40 and earning 125 points. . Loras won the event with a time of 2:10:35 while Walsh took second in 2:12:13, scoring 32 and 50 points, respectively.

The top finisher for SHU was Esrom Woldemichael, taking sixth place. Woldemichael crossed the finish line in 25:57.7, only 30 seconds behind Mason Tope from Loras who won the event in 25:27.2.

The next SHU finisher, Anthony Vermilye, took 18th with a time of 27:12.9. Finishing in 23rd and 34th for the Saints was Bradley Bauer in 27:31.8 and Joe Vermilye at 28:31.3, respectively. The last Siena Heights finisher was Nicholas Barth, coming in at 29:05.4.

Up next, SHU will travel to the GRCC Raider Cross Country Invitational at Riverside Park, on Friday, Sept. 22.
