GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team finished second in the Grand Rapids Raiders Cross Country Invitational, on Friday.
The Saints took second place with a total time of 2:18:23, less than two minutes behind winning-team Aquinas who finished in 2:16:43.
Stephen Merchant was the top-finisher for SHU, finishing the 8k course in 26:51.0 to earn sixth place.
Close behind was Kyler Vanwormer who finished in 26:53.8 for seventh place.
Timothy Young took 11th place with a time of 27:11.0 while Anthony Vermilye finished 18th in 27:33.0.
Rounding out the Saints scoring was Pete Alfaro, coming in at 29:54.7.
SHU will be back in action when the Saints travel to Huntington, Ind. for a race on Saturday, Oct. 1.
