Men's Volleyball Falls to Hope International to Conclude 2018 Season

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Siena Heights men's volleyball team ended their season with a 3-0 loss to Hope International (Calif.) in the consolation match of the 2018 NAIA Invitational Qualifier, on Saturday. Set scores were 25-19, 27-25 and 25-21.

GAME ONE: Hope International 25, Siena Heights 19
The game started out close as SHU held a 9-8 lead over the Royals, but a six-point run put HIU over the Saints and were able to keep the steady lead through the first set.

GAME TWO: Hope International 27, Siena Heights 25
Siena Heights went out to a quick lead over Hope International, 7-5, then the biggest lead of the night at 22-15. The Royals fought back, tying it at 24-24. HIU capitalized on SHU errors to earn the 27-25 set win.

GAME THREE: Hope International 25, Siena Heights 21
The Royals earned an early lead over SHU and was able to keep rolling from there. The Saints had a four-point run to make it 13-15, but it wasn't enough as the HIU lead continued to climb to the 25-21 Royals' victory.

Ryan Hafner and Alex Garavalia led Siena Heights with eight kills as Kyle Browne tallied seven kills and nine digs. Keegan Crawford earned 22 assists and five digs. Trevor Holston managed six block assists for SHU.

The Royals (15-11) were led by Nicholas Bilinski with 17 kills while Danile Biliniski earned 12 kills. Setter Chris Cons finished with 25 assists as Max Osmundson tallied 12 digs.

Siena Heights concludes their season with a 19-7 overall record.
