Men's Volleyball Claims 3-1 Victory Over Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's volleyball team took down Lawrence Tech, 3-1, in a conference contest, on Wednesday. Set scores were 25-22, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-16.

GAME ONE: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 22
The game started out close, tied until SHU made a four-point run to earn a 17-13 advantage. The Blue Devils answered with three points of their own prior to tying it at 19-19. SHU went on a three-point run, but LTU tied it up again at 22-22. The Saints scored the final three points in succession to take the set 25-22.

GAME TWO: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 14
Again, the game started out close, tied 11-11. The score was 13-14 before SHU went on a five point run followed by a six-point run to earn a convincing 25-14 set victory.

GAME THREE: Lawrence Tech 25, Siena Heights 23
Game three continually went back-and-forth with three to four point swings. The score was tied at 23-23 before the Blue Devils took set three from SHU with a 25-23 win.

GAME FOUR: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 16
In the final set of action, the Saints jumped out to a quick 10-5 lead and were able to continually grow their lead into a 25-16 set victory, winning the match 3-1.

Leading the Saints (13-4, 1-1) with 14 kills was Tyler Hubbard-Neil, also making seven digs. Kyle Browne finished the match with seven kills as Jack Prackus earned eight digs. Keegan Crawford led SHU with 22 assists and nine digs while adding on five kills.

Lawrence Tech (6-17, 0-4) was led by Alejandro Gonzalez wwith 10 kills and six digs. Setter Gospel Sua earned 34 assists and Javier Contreras managed 11 digs and seven kills for LTU.

Next up, Siena Heights will host the SHU men's volleyball tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 16-17. The Saints begin play at 4 p.m. Friday against Campbellsville.
