Men's Volleyball Sweeps Crosstown Rival Adrian

ADRAIN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team swept crosstown rival Adrian, 3-0, in a non-conference contest, on Saturday. Set scores were close at 27-25, 25-22 and 25-22.

GAME ONE: Siena Heights 27, Adrian 25
The set started close until the Saints pulled away with five straight points to make it 14-7, led by Tyler Hubbard-Neil earning a kill and two service aces in that stretch. Adrian went on a 9-2 run, tying it 16-16. The game remained close through the end, the Bulldogs tied it 25-25 before Kyle Browne and Keegan Crawford each earned a kill to win it 27-25.

GAME TWO: Siena Heights 25, Adrian 22
Adrian jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before SHU got on the board with a Kyle Browne kill. SHU earned the lead 7-6 and held on until AC tied it up 17-17. The score went back and forth, tied again at 20-20 until SHU scored three and held on to win 25-22.

GAME THREE: Siena Heights 25, Adrian 22
The Bulldogs took the early lead, 7-4, before the Saints went on a six-point run, leading 10-7. AC tied it 10-10 and kept SHU on their toes with an 18-16 lead. Siena Heights scored five points in-a-row, including four attacking errors by the Bulldogs, to lead 21-18. The Saints kept their lead for the remainder of the game, closing out the match with a 25-22 set victory.

Siena Heights (2-0) was led by Belgrave with 16 kills and 10 digs while Alex Gravalia earned 11 kills and two block assists. Keegan Crawford finished with 35 assists, eight digs and three kills. In the back row, Jack Pranckus earned 16 kills.

The Bulldogs (0-2) were led by Michael Burkhardt with nine kills. Joseph Campana earned 26 assists as Eduardo Aleman and Kyle Bell led the defense with 12 and 10 digs, respectively.

Next up, the Saints will take on Davenport in an exhibition contest. Opening serve is set for 7:30 p.m. in Adrian.
