Men’s Volleyball Opens Season with 3-0 Victory Over CCSJ

WHITING, Ind. - The Siena Heights men's volleyball team won their season opener 3-0 against non-conference opponent Calumet St. Joseph (Ind.), on Friday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-13 and 25-23. 

GAME ONE: Siena Heights 25, Calumet St. Joseph 21
SHU started off strong scoring the first four point of the game. The Crimson Wave battled back, tying it at 8, but the Saints quickly gained the lead and held on to win 25-21. 
 
GAME TWO: Siena Heights 25, Calumet St. Joseph 13
Siena Heights jumped out to a quick start and held on for the quick 25-13 game two victory. 
 
GAME THREE: Siena Heights 25, Calumet St. Joseph 23
The Saints and CCSJ (0-1) stayed close through most of the game, but a five-point stretch halfway through the set for SHU to pull away and hold on for the 25-23 victory. 
 
Leading the Saints with 11 kills each was Tyler Hubbard-Neil and Jeremy Belgrade. Setter Keegan Crawford earned 29 assists while adding on two kills. Jack Pranckus led SHU with nine digs. 
 
The Crimson Wave were led by Trevor Wagner and Tim Williams with eight kills a piece. Roberto Morales earned 22 assists as Liam Fagan made 11 digs. 
 
Next up, the Saints (1-0) will host crosstown rival Adrian in a 1 p.m. contest, on Saturday.
